Police Report: Elgin student arrested with knife

• Weapon in school: Tyrone A. Hammond, 17, of 152 College St., Elgin, was arrested Wednesday on a Class 4 felony charge of unlawful use of a weapon and a misdemeanor charge of unauthorized possession of a weapon. Hammond allegedly brought a knife to the Central School program on East Chicago Street in Elgin with the intent of using the knife against another person, a police report said. His bail was set at $15,000. He is to appear in court on Nov. 10.
