• Ask the Chinese: Maybe if Chicago's economy is in such dire straits, maybe they'll have to do what the Chicago politicians in Washington, D.C., are doing: Go to China, ask them to lend them some more money.

• New signs: The last music festival they had in Old Carpentersville about a month ago, they didn't want any signs up because they were, I guess, afraid of all the garage sales and everything that would happen. How come there were signs up promoting their Octoberfest ? I guess that is a different story, huh?

Speak Out
• Cut the weeds: On McLean Boulevard by the golf course, the trees that line McLean Boulevard are beautiful with fall colors, but the tall weeds, unsightly looking, totally distracts the beauty of the trees. City of Elgin, cut the weeds down, please.

Speak Out
• Why no Olympics: It just amazes me that people thought Chicago would win. I wanted Chicago to win, don't get me wrong. But as corrupt as this state is... the whole state of Illinois is so corrupt, and look at these politicians in Chicago and in the state. Our governors are in jail, Blago will be going to jail and Roland Burris talking on TV about this thing. Where are these guys coming from, what planet?
