Elgin man convicted of sexual assault of young boys

November 3, 2009

ST. CHARLES -- A 32-year-old Elgin man was found guilty Monday of having sexual contact with two boys each younger than 13.

Michael J. Jackson, of the 400 block of Addison Street, was convicted today of two counts of predatory criminal sexual assault and one count of aggravated criminal sexual abuse.

The charges stemmed from contact Jackson had with the boys -- whom he knew -- from the period of June 2004 to December 2006.

Kane County Circuit Court Judge Timothy Sheldon handed down the verdict, since Jackson had waived his right to a jury trial.

Jackson remains in Kane County jail. A sentencing hearing has been scheduled for Dec. 10, where he faces between 15 and 20 years in prison.
