Possible insanity plea: A Chicago man accused of trying to kidnap a young child from Spring Hill Mall in West Dundee months ago might plead not guilty by reason of insanity, Assistant Public Defender Tom McCulloch told reporters Thursday.

Authorities previously deemed Arthur Robinzine, 19, of the 1400 block of North Luna Ave, mentally unfit to stand trial. Robinzine, who is in the custody of the Illinois Department of Human Services, is charged with aggravated kidnapping, unlawful restraint, and other felonies in connection with the Dec. 6 incident.

Police said Robinzine grabbed a 4-year-old boy who was visiting the mall with his classmates, then was tackled by an adult chaperone. He is due back in court next month.
