Police Blotter: Guilty plea in cocaine sale
Police Reports
• Tailgate missing: A resident in the 800 block of South Street told police that the tailgate of the 2002 Chevrolet pickup truck he uses for work was taken Friday or Saturday.
• Wallet missing from car: A resident in the 600 block of Littleton Trail told police that someone smashed out the passenger-side window of his car sometime overnight Friday and that a wallet containing cash and credit cards was taken from the vehicle.
• Flood advisory: A flood advisory was extended into Sunday for parts of the Fox River in the west and northwest suburbs because of the possibility of more rain. The advisory remained in effect Sunday for the Fox River at Algonquin and Montgomery until Sunday evening, according to the National Weather Service. The river was at 1.9 feet just before 8 a.m. but was being affected by gate operations at the dam. "Bankfull" stage is 2.8 feet there, and flood stage is 3 feet, the weather service said. However, the river level was expected to remain steady through the afternoon. The weather service was predicting a 20 percent chance of rain Sunday night.

• Elgin man convicted of cocaine sale: Jorge Alejandro-Icujuirre, 19, of the 600 block of St. John Street, was sentenced Friday to four years in prison after pleading guilty to one count of unlawful delivery of a controlled substance. The charge stemmed from an incident in April, when Alejandro-Icujuirre sold 3.8 grams of cocaine to an undercover Elgin police officer.
• Elgin man guilty of robbery: John H. Darrington, 25, of the 400 block of Sunset Drive, was convicted Friday of one count of robbery in connection with the robbing and beating of a pizza delivery man in February 2008. According to records, Darrington used his cellular phone to order a pizza to be delivered to an apartment in the 200 block of Center Street. When the pizza arrived, Darrington beat and robbed the victim, taking about $20. Police used telephone records to track Darrington down. Sentencing has been set for Dec. 2. He faces up to 60 years in prison.
