Hanover plan a hit with young families at Tuscan Woods

May 17, 2008

Offering more than 2,600 square feet of living space and priced at $299,990, the two-story Hanover plan has garnered the attention of families looking for a step up in space and style at Tuscan Woods in Elgin.

With four bedrooms and a combined island kitchen and family room that comprise over a third of the home's total square footage, the two-story Hanover gives families room to grow.

"While the Hanover is new to Tuscan Woods it is not new to the Ryland collection of homes," said Robert Meyn, vice president of sales and marketing for Ryland Homes, the neighborhood developer. "The Hanover has proven to be a top seller at Ryland communities throughout Chicagoland. Its traditional floor plan and moderate base price make it a very popular with growing families."

Highlights of the newly introduced Hanover include four bedrooms, 2½ baths, basement and a two-car garage.

A covered front porch welcomes guests to the Hanover and leads to the two-story foyer. To the left, the living room and adjoining formal dining room. And to the right is the study. The island kitchen with breakfast room is open to the family room.

Upstairs, the master bedroom suite features a walk-in closet, wall closet and private luxury bath with soaking tub and separate shower. Two of three secondary bedrooms include walk-in closets and three bedrooms share a hall bath.

Located on Highland Avenue just east of Randall Road and tucked away amid mature neighborhoods such as Valley Creek and Country Knolls, Tuscan Woods is a Ryland Homes community that offers 75 homesites measuring a third to a half acre.

Boasting a country setting with several ponds and a walking path that winds throughout the neighborhood, Tuscan Woods offers wooded homesites that back to mature oak trees and scenic open spaces. The community itself consists of 60 acres; however, Ryland has dedicated 40 of those acres to the city of Elgin which has protected the land from any future development.

In addition to the new Hanover, buyers may choose from a total of 10 ranch and two-story plans ranging from 2,624 to 3,415 square feet in size with four bedrooms; 2½ baths; open family rooms; dens or studies per plan; basements; and two- or optional three-car garages. Two decorated model homes are open daily for touring, and homes are currently priced from $299,990 to $356,990.

Standard features include painted six-panel nine-foot first-floor ceilings; painted six-panel Colonist doors and trim; designer lighting; 42-inch solid oak AristoKraft kitchen cabinets; volume ceilings per plan; decorator countertops; and luxury master baths with ceramic tile flooring, 35-inch vanities and Corian vanity tops. Exteriors feature siding and brick fronts, energy-efficient double-pane windows, sodded and landscaped front and side yards, and asphalt driveways.

"Our newly introduced Resale Assistance Program has proven to be a real asset to our buyers," said Meyn. "Designed to help buyers sell an existing home, the Resale Assistance Program helps buyers on a myriad of levels from discounted listing fees to assistance in exterior landscaping, interior cleaning and much more. All at no cost to Ryland home buyers."

Tuscan Woods residents are within minutes of a variety of services and conveniences. Randall Road offers a variety of restaurants, grocery stores, department stores, convenience stores and other retailers. Interstate 90 is within five minutes of the community, as is Route 20 (Lake Street) which provides access to the Elgin-O'Hare Expressway. The Big Timber Metra station is also within two miles of the community.

"Buyers who take that turn down Highland Avenue are amazed at the difference a ¼-mile drive can make," Meyn said. "Randall Road, which is brimming with every possible restaurant, retailer and service imaginable, is minutes from Tuscan Woods yet the community, surrounded by 100-year-old trees, seems to be something you'd find deep in the heart of small town America miles from civilization. With only 75 homes being built on 20 of the 60 acres, buyers are impressed with the privacy and natural beauty that will be preserved at Tuscan Woods."
