Townhome models under construction at Cedar Grove
Construction is under way on two townhome models at Cedar Grove in Elgin.
Offering 87 maintenance-free townhomes and 52 single-family homes, Cedar Grove is Ryland's newest community located just west of Randall Road at the intersection of Bowes Road and Corron Road in Elgin. Cedar Grove is a 54-acre community that enjoys a quiet, country setting yet is within minutes of I-90, Metra train service and is served by Burlington District 301 schools.
According to Ryland's vice president of sales and marketing, Robert Meyn, as models take shape at Cedar Grove models are for sale at its sister community, Shadow Hill.
"With the Amherst and Chelsea models at Cedar Grove under construction and scheduled for an October Grand Opening we've gone ahead and released all four, professionally decorated model homes for sale at Shadow Hill," Meyn said. "Shadow Hill was introduced in 2005 and has been one of our fastest selling communities. It's just down the road from Cedar Grove and we've been using the models to showcase the homes at Cedar Grove. With the introduction of new models at Cedar Grove, buyers can take advantage of some terrific values at Shadow Hill. All the models for sale at Shadow Hill include fireplaces, finished lower levels, ceramic or hardwood flooring, upgraded cabinets, carpet and appliances just to name a few."
"And, all window treatments, wall coverings, and decorator extras are included in the prices which start in the upper $200,000. The Cedar Grove townhomes are similar to those offered at Shadow Hill and range from 1,764 to 2,185 square feet in size with two or three bedrooms; 2½ baths; charming kitchens; large informal living areas; lower levels; and attached two-car garages.
The two models currently under construction include:
• The Amherst: A 1,764-square-foot design with two bedrooms and a loft; 2½ baths; island kitchen with breakfast room; family room; master bedroom suite with private bath and walk-in closet; lower level with utility room, storage room and access to the two-car garage. This home is priced from $234,990.
• The Chelsea: A spacious home offering 2,079-square-feet of living space with three bedrooms; 2½ baths; spacious kitchen; formal dining area open to an expansive living room; master bedroom suite with large walk-in closet and private bath; lower level with utility room, storage room and access to the two-car garage. This home is priced from $251,990.
In addition to the two models, three additional plans are offered. They are:
• The Chatham: A 1,894-square-foot home with three bedrooms; 2½ baths; charming kitchen; formal dining area open to an expansive living room; master bedroom suite with large walk-in closet and private bath; lower level with utility room, storage room and access to the two-car garage. This home is priced from $239,990.
• The Dunmore: A 2,079-square-foot home priced from $251,990, the Dunmore offers three bedrooms; 2½ baths; eat-in island kitchen open to the family room; formal living room open to the dining room; master bedroom suite with large walk-in closet and private bath; lower level with utility room, storage room and access to the two-car garage.

This home is priced from $257,990.
"In addition to the new townhome models, a new single-family model will be under construction later this summer," Meyn said. "The Windsor plan is new to the Ryland collection of homes and we're very excited to begin construction on this spectacular new floor plan."
Cedar Grove features single-family homes ranging from 2,420 to 3,805 square feet in size with four bedrooms; 2½ baths; large island kitchens open to family rooms; formal living and dining rooms; first-floor studies; master bedroom suites with large walk-in closets and private baths; lofts per plan; full extra-deep poured basements; central air conditioning; and attached two and three-car garages. The single-family homes are introductory priced from $346,990 to $404,990.

Children attend Burlington schools in District 301, including Prairie View Elementary, Prairie Knoll Middle School and Central High School. Metra train service can be found in downtown Elgin as well as the Big Timber station.
