Available with a 6-foot cargo box and offered in Work Truck, SL and SLE trim levels, the mid-size GMC pickup truck is powered by one of two strong engines: a 2.9-liter four-cylinder engine and a 3.7-liter five-cylinder. Both are equipped with variable valve timing. Torque is communicated to the ground via the standard Aisin AI AR-5 five-speed manual gearbox or the optional smooth-shifting Hydra-Matic 4L60 electronic four-speed automatic transmission.
Drivers desiring a more rugged look and performance can select the popular Z71 Off Road package, now available in both 2WD and 4WD models, offering distinctive visual cues to augment its suspension differential
The Canyon's solid road manners start with body-on-frame construction. A robust steel ladder-type frame serves as a solid foundation for the different suspension configurations. Cross members provide excellent overall stiffness resulting in a smooth ride.
