What the neighbors say

NEIGHBORHOODS - WILLIAMS GLEN

(Use with photo called na30_neighbors_p1)

"At the time we bought we were living in Alabama. My husband was working in Woodridge and I was working in Chicago. Our biggest consideration, after price, was finding a location in between that worked for both of us. That was five years ago and we don't have any complaints, this move to Bolingbrook worked out better than we had both hoped!"

"There was no diversity where I grew up and I didn't want to raise our daughter like that. When we first starting looking for a home six year ago and were telling family they advised us against moving here. We didn't take their advice and moved here anyway. We fell in love with the house and the neighborhood! When my family started coming out to visit, the things they thought about Bolingbrook changed. My sister lives out here now and other family members are trying to move here, too!"

Places of interests

1. Johansen's Farm (the original location)

In business for the past 80 years, Johansen's Farm continues to bring fun to families by hosting a fall festival which is billed as having the grandest of pumpkin displays, stunning mums in every fall shade and a petting zoo for children of all ages.

2. Bolingbrook Recreation and Aquatic Complex

An award-winning facility built in 1996, the complex includes an aquatic park, the LifeStyles Fitness Center, dance and aerobics studios, Stepping Stones Preschool, a 16,000-square-foot gymnasium, community rooms and more.

What makes the neighborhood unique:

One developer, Lexington Homes, launched the subdivision by building on the south side of Boughton. They were responsible for the creation of units 1, 2 and 3 which were built in the first wave of homes. Lexington started to build on the north side of Boughton but then reconsidered and sold the lots to Ryland Homes. Ryland completed units 4 and 5 on the north side of the road.

Local schools

Three schools serving students are within walking distance of homes in the neighborhood. They include Jamie McGee Elementary, Jane Addams Middle School and Bolingbrook High School.
