Bloomfield West

September 25, 2009

"I found this place before there was a subdivision. There wasn't anything here but a trailer. I lived in St. Charles and I'd drive down to visit my parents who live in Carrillon. When I inquired about what the homes would look like the Kirk people gave me $5 in gas money to see the models that were built in Huntley. There were eight total and I fell in love with them all. The location and affordability were what I was looking for and to this day I'm happy with my choice."

"We lived on the other side of Bolingbrook on Spruce for about 16 years. We loved living there but it was time to upgrade our lives. Ours was one of the first homes built and it gave us a chance to get to know the neighbors on the street that were building at the same time. The best thing that came out of it was that my 10-year-old daughter has become best friends with my neighbor's daughter who lives across the street."

What makes the neighborhood unique

There are still deals to be found. A current real estate listing advertised a 3,419-square-foot former model home which is touted to include $90,000 in upgrades, that should retail for more than $400,000 but is being sold in the mid-$300,000 range.
