Briefs: Career workshop set for Bolingbrook

State Rep. Emily McAsey (D-Lockport) will host a career building workshop at 7 p.m. Nov. 16 at the Community Center at 201 Canterbury Lane in Bolingbrook.

The workshop will feature information about what employers are looking for when they screen resumes and how various electronic job search sites can help job search efforts.

McAsey will be joined by representatives of the Will County Workforce Investment Board.

The teen game club will meet at 6:30 p.m. Nov. 3 at Fountaindale Public Library, 300 W. Briarcliff Road in Bolingbrook.

Beginning Nov. 1, the Bolingbrook Police Department will no longer accept requests after 2 a.m. from residents looking to park a vehicle overnight on the street.

Residents must call the department's non-emergency number of 630-226-8660 before 2 a.m. to place a request.

Boughton Road Golf Course will host its annual Turkey Shoot on Nov. 14 at the course on Boughton Road in Bolingbrook.

The course will feature a unique layout and each foursome will receive a free turkey.

The $35 fee includes six holes of golf, a turkey dinner with all the trimmings and a beverage and contests on the course.
