Bases loaded, bottom of the seventh and two outs: West Aurora second baseman Jeff Etter rockets the ball high towards right-center for what looked like a game tying, possibly winning line drive to the outfield.

Glenbard North center fielder Justin Wahrman had other ideas. On his horse and tracking the ball, he sprinted towards right center field. It looked like the ball would be out of reach for both outfielders, but Wahrman dove and made the game-winning catch, sealing the DVC victory for the Panthers, 3-2.

West also dropped the second game of the doubleheader, 6-1.

"That was probably two of our best contact hitters in the lineup, and we just can't catch a break," said Blackhawks pitcher Will Fuentes.

Glenbard North (9-10, 9-8) got an early lead, scoring two unearned runs in the first after three errors by the Blackhawks (13-14, 6-12).

In the second, Blackhawks' pitcher Will Fuentes struck out the side. He finished with nine strikeouts. At the plate, Fuentes helped his cause by bringing in a run with a ground out.

Fuentes came up big again in the sixth, tripling to put a man in scoring position for the Blackhawks. His courtesy runner scored, tying the game 2-2 after Nate Strusz hit a sac fly to right.

"This is a good hitting team and they got runners in scoring position but I just buckled down and had great defense helping me behind me," said Panthers' pitcher Steve Cocat after he was saved by the diving catch.

Glenbard North added the winning run in the top of the seventh, holding the Blackhawks in the bottom half. Baseball: Glenbard North 3, West Aurora 2
