Crackel's big performance lifts Oswego baseball

Brad Crackel's huge day helped the Oswego East baseball team to a 3-0 Southwest Prairie Conference win over Morris on Wednesday.

Crackel (2-3) pitched a complete game two hitter, striking out 14 while walking just one. At the plate, Crackel smashed a two-run homer for Oswego (5-15 overall, 4-10 SPC).

Kirkland-Hiawatha 7, Hinckley-Big Rock 6 -- Kyle Runyon was 3-for-4 with a double and two runs scored for H-BR (9-6), while Nolan Craig was 2-for-4 with a triple.

Somonauk 6, Marquette 3 -- Scott Powers won his seventh game of the season, striking out 12 and allowing six hits. He also had two hits and an RBI at the plate.

Oswego 11, Plainfield South 4 -- Tony Titaback and Brandt Stone had three hits each for Oswego.

Aurora Christian 35-17, Luther South 0-0 -- Ryan Johnson and Nate Hill each homered in game one. Johnson had two hits in game two for ACHS, while Sean Wear also added two hits.

Marmion 8, Montini 0 -- Brian Burns pitched a complete game for Marmion (8-7, 6-3).

Softball
Rosary 4, Montini 0 -- Kyle Schalz took a perfect game into the seventh inning and finished with a one hitter. Audra Masters had a home run for Rosary (10-9 overall, 9-0 in Suburban Catholic Conference).

Kaneland 4, Rochelle 3 (8 innings) -- Brianna Hurst had the game-winning hit in the top of the eighth inning for Kaneland (13-3, 6-2).

Plainfield North 13, Oswego 3 -- Meghan Loftus, Kelly Kupferer and Kelsey Miller each had an RBI for Oswego.

Plano 3, Lisle 1 -- Lauren Konop had a homer and two RBIs while Nora Ocon and Katelyn Debolt had two hits apiece.

Indian Creek 7, Earlville-Leland 1 -- Indian Creek was led by Devon White, who had three RBIs, with Margaret Harvell driving in two runs.

Aurora Christian 17-17, Luther South 2-3 -- The Eagles picked up their first two wins of the season as Shannah Morris had six hits and six RBIs in the two games, while Megan Cryder had three hits and scored three runs.

Waubonsie Valley 7, St. Charles East 0 -- Mandela Shepard got a 6-1, 6-1 win for Waubonsie (7-2) at No. 1 singles, while the team of Chris Utterback and Gary Sheng got a 6-2, 6-1 win at No. 2 doubles.
Girls Track
Rosary 161, Montini 42, Driscoll 28, Mooseheart 16 -- Amy Kus won the 100 hurdles (15.99), 200 (27.27) and high jump (5-2) for Rosary, while Moncia English won the shot put (36-9) and discus (111-9) and Kelly Kieffer the 1600 (6:09.09) and 3200 (13:14.37). Area Roundup
