IMSA

Coach: Chris Colburn

Last year's record/highlights: 3-7. Set four school records.

Top returners: Seniors Erin Talbot and Jessica Durden, juniors Kendra Smith and Jade Martin.

Top newcomer: Sophomore Elizabeth Ott

Outlook: The Titans are in a building stage, but Colburn feels his team will be competitive. IMSA will battle perennial rival West Aurora twice this year and looks forward to three new teams on its schedule. Talbot holds the school record in the 200 IM while Smith and Durden add depth to the Titans sprinters. Martin is the top diver.

Rosary

Coach: Bill Schalz

Last year's record/highlights: The Beads claimed their second consecutive state title.

Top returners: Seniors Kally Fayhee, Kara Savegnago and Elizabeth Tavierne, juniors Olivia Scott, Mackenzie Powers, Emily Clark and Diana Norkus, sophomores Franchesca Divine and GiSun Pak.

Top newcomers: Freshmen Emily Launer, Rachel Burke, Sarah Sykstius, Grace Cerighton, Kathryn Hare.

Outlook: The Beads graduated just one senior and are the preseason favorite to win a third straight state title. Depth has been a key ingredient to the Beads past success and they have an abundance again this year.

Waubonsie Valley

Coach: Tom Schweer

Last year's record/highlights: 4-1 overall, 3-1 UEC. Ninth at state meet. Took first place at Neaqua Valley Invite, Downers Grove North Invite and Fox Valley Invite.

Top returners: Seniors Elena Carvell and Shelby Daeschner, juniors Andrea Baumgartner and Julia Carroll.

Top newcomers: Juniors Ember McCoy and Hannah Jacob, sophomores Riley Calo and Emily Kelly, freshman Megan Sellers.

Outlook: The Warriors hope to qualify for the state meet again, but with 18 seniors graduated it will be a tall order. Schweer will use the early part of the season to see what the puzzle looks like, then fit the pieces into place.

West Aurora

Coach: Joe Neukirch

Last year's record/highlights: Qualified a swimmer and a diver for the state meet. Set six school records.

Top returners: Seniors Emily Timmons and Melanie Buckley, junior Jackie Iglesias.

Top newcomers: Seniors Danielle Williams and Katie Huches.

Outlook: West Aurora has double the squad it had last year with thirty-plus girls out this season. Qualifying a couple swimmers and a diver for the state meet is top priority for the Blackhawks, and Neukirch feels with some hard work and specific training the Blackhawks can qualify a relay team.

Editor's Note: Information for Oswego's swimming team was not made available to The Beacon News.
