ACC reaches 20-win plateau for first time since '92-93

January 26, 2008

WOODSTOCK -- Junior Mike Adams led the way with 27 points as Aurora Central Catholic blew out Marian Central 76-41 Friday and reached the 20-win plateau for the first time since the 1992-93 season.

"I knew it had been awhile," said ACC coach Nate Drye, whose 20-2 team is 10-1 in Suburban Catholic Conference play.

Marian Central fell to 3-19 and 1-9.

"Mike Adams went crazy," continued Drye. "He only played three quarters and scored 15 in the first quarter. He was just on fire. He had 11 rebounds, six blocks and four steals. He really energized us."

The Chargers raced to a 25-9 lead after one quarter and then cruised.

Mark Adams added 13 points and Nick Czaja 10.

Indian Creek 62, Kirkland-Hiawatha 38 -- Jake Swanson had 20 points for Indian Creek (11-9, 3-3 Little 10) while Blake Mitchell and Nathan Peterson had 11 apiece.

Oswego 53, Morris 37 -- Oswego owned a 13-2 lead after one quarter and never looked back to improve to 8-9 overall and 5-3 in the Southwest Prairie.
