    A 17-year-old male died Sunday afternoon after he was hit by a car in the 200 block of Center Street in Elgin, police said.

According to Deputy Police Chief Jeff Swoboda, police were called to 260 Center St. at 4:07 p.m. on a report of a car hitting a pedestrian. The unidentified victim was rushed to Sherman Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.  <br><br>
