Man charged with hitting an officer during arrest
An Aurora man was charged with felony aggravated battery after striking an officer in the head during his arrest Wednesday, the Kane County state's attorney's office said. Ricky Mitchell, 45, of the 300 block of Rosewood Avenue, was charged with felony aggravated battery and resisting a peace officer after he struggled with officers while being placed under arrest and struck an officer in the head with his fist, prosecutors said.

• Calvin Jones, 30, of the 300 block of Mill Street, Aurora, was charged with felony possession of a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver on Thursday, the Kane County state's attorney's office said.
• Johnny Walker, 51, of the 600 block of River Street, Aurora, was charged with felony possession of a controlled substance on Thursday, the Kane County state's attorney's office said.
• Enjoli Jones, 30, of the 300 block of Mill Street, was charged with felony possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver on Thursday, the Kane County state's attorney's office said.
• Diego Bueno, 17, of the 600 block of Lebanon Street, Aurora, was charged with felony mob action and criminal damage to property Thursday after a vehicle was rammed by a car Bueno was in, the Kane County state's attorney's office said.
• Julius Velazquez-Garcia, 18, of the 400 block of Jackson Street, Aurora, was charged with felony aggravated battery and mob action Thursday, after a vehicle was rammed by a car Velazquez-Garcia was in, the Kane County state's attorney's office said.
• Guadalupe Vargas, 17, of the 300 block of Broadway, Aurora, was charged with felony possession of a fraudulent identification card on Wednesday, the Kane County state's attorney's office said. Vargas possessed both a Social Security card and a Resident Alien card that had no number on file with the U.S. government, prosecutors said.
