Medicare recipients won't be getting cuts
For Mrs. Mecking of Oswego who is worried about Medicare cuts: The only cuts that are going to take place are the subsidies that Medicare has been forced to pay private insurance companies. That's 14 percent per patient per annum. If she has stayed with Medicare and has a supplemental policy she should be fine. If she left Medicare and went with a private insurance company, then she may have a problem. But they are not cutting Medicare. That is the only cut that is being advocated.Eileen Green

Offended by column criticizing Lauzen
I am curious. Does Anthony Stanford actually get paid for the drivel published in his column of Oct. 21, which criticized Chris Lauzen, one of the few politicians with the courage to tell it like it is?Gene McDowell

Government seems to be preparing us for takeover of medical costs
