Fox River level rises to near flood stage in Montgomery

October 31, 2009

The National Weather Service has issued a flood advisory for several areas, including the Fox River in Montgomery. Officials said as of 8 a.m. Friday, the river was at 12.5 feet in Montgomery, which is considered the stage at which the banks are full.

Flood stage is considered 13 feet, and the Weather Service has estimated the river could rise to a stage of 12.8 feet in Montgomery by tonight.

The Weather Service said with another 20 to 30 percent of more rain both Sunday and Monday nights, people should be aware of the river rising to possible flood stage.

The flood warning for Montgomery remains in effect until Tuesday evening, officials said.
