Big Rock man killed in crash

November 14, 2009

A 21-year-old Big Rock man died Friday morning in a single-vehicle crash.

Sean Heiss, of the 300 block of Rhodes Avenue, was killed when the 2004 Hyundai Sonata he was driving south on Dauberman Road left the road, Kane County sheriff's deputies said.

Authorities said the Sonata was near Scott Road at 2:30 a.m. when it ran off the roadway after passing another car. The Sonata entered a field on the west side of Dauberman, then rolled over, deputies said.

Heiss, who was the only person in the car, was thrown from the Sonata. He was pronounced dead at the scene, deputies said.

The Kane County Sheriff's Department is investigating whether speed, drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash.
