Aurora University's School of Nursing will hold an information open house at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday in Perry Theatre in the Aurora Foundation Center at 1305 Kenilworth Place.
Prospective freshman nursing students and guests are invited.
University representatives will offer information on academic requirements, admission procedures and financial aid opportunities.

Clinic for 'foot drop'
On Thursday, the Hanger Aurora Patient Care Center will be hosting a free clinical evaluation clinic for patients battling a form of paralysis known as "foot drop." Local residents and patients suffering from the same condition are invited to the clinical and educational event called "Celebrating Orthotic Independence," hosted by Hanger Prosthetics & Orthotics at 4255 Westbrook Drive, Suite 215.
Designed to restore personal freedom and comfort, the events feature a team of certified orthotists who will provide free clinical evaluations of patients' current orthotic solutions as well as an opportunity to experience the latest advancements and technologies. Rush-Copley designated ACR Breast Imaging Center of Excellence
Rush-Copley has been designated a Breast Imaging Center of Excellence by the American College of Radiology (ACR). This award from the ACR recognizes breast imaging centers that have earned accreditation in all of the College's voluntary, breast-imaging accreditation programs and modules, in addition to the mandatory Mammography Accreditation Program. Rush-Copley is the only hospital in the greater Fox Valley area, and only one of 17 facilities in the state to receive the designation.
The breast imaging services at Rush-Copley are fully accredited in mammography, stereotactic breast biopsy, breast ultrasound and ultrasound-guided breast biopsy. Peer-review evaluations, conducted in each breast imaging modality by board-certified physicians and medical physicists who are experts in the field, have determined that Rush-Copley has achieved high practice standards in image quality, personnel qualifications, facility equipment, quality control procedures, and quality assurance programs.
Rush-Copley offers leading-edge screening and treatment for breast cancer. The medical center's breast health program has outstanding outcomes – among the highest in the state. Rush-Copley Cancer Care Center provides a full continuum of care, including education, screenings, diagnosis and treatment, as well as social and spiritual issues. In addition to the Breast Imaging Center of Excellence accreditation, Rush-Copley's breast health program also provides patients with some distinct advantages including convenient appointments at both the hospital's Aurora campus and at Rush-Copley Healthcare Center in Yorkville, as well as same-day results in most cases.
Dreyer adds internist at Fox Valley Villages
Karen M. Lee, M.D., has joined the Department of Internal Medicine at Dreyer Medical Clinic, and is seeing patients at the Clinic's Fox Valley Villages location. Lee received her undergraduate degree from the University of Illinois in Chicago in 2002, and earned a medical degree from Ross University School of Medicine in North Brunswick, N.J., in 2006. She completed a residency in internal medicine at the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee in 2009. Lee is board eligible in internal medicine. She has hospital affiliations with Provena Mercy Medical Center and Rush-Copley Medical Center. Lee offers Saturday and evening hours, and her special interests include women's health.
