On June 25, 2008, a group of local World War II veterans took an emotional journey to Washington, D.C., for free, courtesy of Honor Flight Chicago. For most of them, it was their first trip to the memorial, and a chance to remember a different time, a time of heroes. The Beacon News was there, and in the stories and videos below, we’ll take you along.
