Dinner, awards: The Geneva Chamber of Commerce Annual Dinner and Awards Night will be from 6 to 9 p.m. at Eagle Brook Country Club, 2288 Fargo Blvd. in Geneva. The annual dinner will recognize members who have made special contributions to the chamber by presenting President, Ambassador and Spirit Awards to individuals and businesses. The prestigious Wood Community Service Award winner will also be revealed at the dinner. Each year the Wood Award is presented to an individual who has made significant community contributions in the areas of business, education, youth involvement, civic organizations, arts, recreation, charity or government. Ribbon-cutting: The Batavia Chamber of Commerce will participate in a ribbon-cutting for R Kids Closet (Children's Consignment Shop), 63 N. Randall Road, at 10 a.m.

Health Care, A Local Perspective: Tackling the hot topic of "Health Care: Global Issue, Local Perspective," is James Witt, president and CEO of Provena Mercy Medical Center in Aurora. Witt will localize this hot global issue for luncheon guests at 11:30 a.m. in the McAuley/Buckley conference rooms in the lower level of Provena Mercy Medical Center, 1325 N. Domo Arigato Gozaimasu: Do you love local businesses, or do you have a beef with them? It is time to air the laundry. Batavia Chamber of Commerce has scheduled a series of informal discussions with the Chamber's executive director and Chamber board members. Explore the relationships between merchants and customers in Batavia and the Fox Valley. Domo Arigato Gozaimasu means a very sincere "thank you," according to the Chamber. The events are scheduled in Batavia as follows: 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Nov. 16 at Burger King, Route 31 and Houston Street; 5 to 7 p.m. Nov. 17 at Caribou Coffee, 201 N. Randall Road; 7 to 9 a.m. Nov. 19 at Panera Bread, 154 W. Wilson St.

YACC welcomes Tom Cross: The Yorkville Area Chamber of Commerce, in conjunction with Speckman Therapeutics, will host a luncheon with state Rep. and House Republican leader Tom Cross as the featured speaker. Annual Mayor's Breakfast: This will feature the Batavia mayor's State of the City address. The event begins at 7:30 a.m., with Mayor Jeffery D.
