Community Appreciation Pig Roast: The Fox Valley Credit Union invites its members and the public to join its first Community Appreciation Pig Roast. The event will be from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Fox Valley Credit Union, 575 N. Broadway, Aurora. There will be cash prize drawings for those who enter and a trick or treat bag for young ghouls and goblins who come dressed in costume. Special program for the Unemployed: For people unemployed or underemployed and their spouse, Missionary of the Sacred Heart is offering some considerations about the mind, heart and spirit it will take to get the right job. This program will be from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. today at the Prisco Center, Aurora. The Rev. Peter Campbell will lead a team of laity who have experienced unemployment and have risen above it with the help of others. Free; any donation will be accepted. Dinner meeting: The American Society for Quality is a nationwide, nonprofit, professional organization. ASQ Fox Valley Section 1208 aims to create quality awareness and professionalism through education and community outreach programs. The November dinner meeting will feature speaker Manu Vora, chairman and president of Business Excellence Inc. The pre-dinner topic will be Best Practices in Employee Motivation, and Manu will speak about employee engagement strategies. This dinner meeting will be at NIU-Naperville Campus, 1120 E. Diehl Road, Rooms 161A&B, in Naperville. Cost is $20 and it starts at 5:30 p.m. with networking and registration.
